Kitchen Style Trends for 2019

Posted on 29/03/2019

Each year never fails to bring new style trends for our homes, with no room more so than the kitchen.

We have put together some of our favourite trends which promise to be popular this year, which are both affordable and easy to achieve.

Go Nordic-Scandi

A trend that refuses to go away, the Nordic-Scandi look remains clean and sleek in its appearance. Fresh colours such as whites and blues create beautiful silhouettes, which offer a classic yet modern feel to the room. Our Scandinavian Blue Glass Splashback is a great way to add a cool colour into your design.

Back to Nature

Raw materials are a popular trend this year, with wood in its natural form becoming a key feature. Reclaimed wood can offer a rustic yet contemporary look, which can be whitewashed or left in its original colour, for use on worktops of cabinets.

Strong and Mighty

Colour and pattern have a revival in 2019. Geometric tiles, brightly coloured splashbacks and coloured cabinet doors can be used separately or all at once in this theme, with fixtures in contrasting materials to add stylish accents throughout.

Metals with Texture

Taps, sinks and appliances can be used to create stylish focal points in your kitchen, especially when used in a textured metal theme. Copper, Pewter and Gunmetal are all popular materials for this look, adding both texture and colour into your modern design. Try our Copper Aluminum Composite Splashback for a beautiful finish to your kitchen.

Pretty Pastels

Muted pastels never go out of style and are a safe yet colourful way to decorate your kitchen. Dusty pink and turquoise are among the most popular pastels, adding a feeling of warmth and springtime that will be uplifting at any time of the day.

English Country Vintage

A way to merge the old and new, this theme mixes country cottage styles with vintage materials, such as marble for splashbacks or sinks, with natural stone worktops and rattan furniture throughout.

Let there be Light

Good lighting is important no matter what the style of kitchen. Uplighting from underneath cabinets and countertops is a great way to add depth to your kitchen, whilst LED strips and pendant lights add a stylish visual which will round off your design perfectly.

Concrete Crazy

Concrete may sound very harsh and industrial, but this style relies more on the softer and more tactile version of the material. Great for using on the floor and as splashbacks, this new way of using concrete adds a very modern touch that does not look heavy or unfinished. Try our Chemetal Cement Splashback for a less oppressive finish to your kitchen.

If you are feeling inspired to update your kitchen with any of these themes, or indeed any of your own, take a look through our website to see if we can help you to achieve your stylish goal.
