There are lots of things to consider when looking for your kitchen splashback, knowing how to choose the right kitchen splashback can be intimidating. We have put together some key points to consider and look for when you are shopping.

Decide where to put your Splashback

Having an understanding of where your splashback is going to go is a great place to start. If you are wanting your splashback to sit directly behind a hob, a glass splashback is the best solution. If your splashback is going behind a sink, an acrylic splashback works best. We often recommend pairing a glass with an acrylic splashback, you can colour match your acrylic or glass splashback to match one another to give a seamless finish.

Acrylic or glass Splashback?

There are definite benefits for both glass and acrylic splashbacks but it is difficult to compare and decide when there are so many options available. You will generally find that if you are looking to cover a larger area with multiple socket cutouts or include unusual shapes, acrylic is the best bet. Although we don’t recommend placing your acrylic splashback behind a direct heat source, convection hobs with a 15mm gap are fine. You will also find that acrylic splashbacks work out more cost-effective.

Matching your Splashback

Whether you are designing a kitchen/bathroom from scratch or revamping your existing space, coordinating key focal points is a sure way to create a chic finish. Looking at details such as the colour of door handles/cabinets to appliance finishes makes for a less chaotic ambience. There are many designs and finishes available, the good news is you are spoilt for choice. So take your time whilst looking for a splashback, and you will find the perfect fit for your home.
